What Quickr Entry should provide to be "deployable" and interesting in a corporate environment

Quickr Entry is a very interesting first contact with Lotus Quickr. It's included in your Lotus Notes license and you can deploy it immediately. You can use Lotus Quickr Connectors to begin using it with your desktop applications.

It sounds good, but in spite of being free and nice the only thing you can do with it is creating a long plain list of files, no tagging and no folders. As soon as a user creates several files he loses control of them and this repository becomes useless.

So, wouldn't it be good if Lotus Quickr Entry could provide at least:

  • Folders
  • Tagging with a Tag cloud
  • Provide an evaluating mechanism for the files ( Poor, good, superb )
  • Rich text Description field

I guess the Quickr Entry product objective is to show the marvels of Quickr and encourage the customer to acquire it. But, with this additional features, Quickr Entry would't conflict with Quickr Standard and would be useful in a corporate environment and not a toy as it's now.

Maybe LotusSphere is coming with new features for Quickr Entry !:-)

I agree. It's not useful enough in its current state to encourage a user to try it long enough that they would want to upgrade to the full version.

Plus, what's the deal with manually editing a config file?

Yes, I totally agree.

Quickr Entry today is nothing more than a MS Windows Shared Folder with security and web access...

But I really hope that they add some features to Quickr Entry on next version.

@Roland,

I've casted my vote. Your idea has been a long time around. Let's hope someone in the right position can take it into account. :-)
